Grief Therapy for the losses that linger
If grief is showing up as heaviness, numbness, anger, or a sense that life no longer fits, we can work with that here. We meet adults across California who are carrying death, estrangement, missed hopes, or changes that still feel hard to name.

What people bring us
People often come in feeling worn down by what has changed and what will not return. Some are grieving a death and do not feel like themselves anymore. Others are trying to make sense of a family rupture, a relationship that ended, or the loss of a role, dream, or version of life they expected. Grief can make everyday tasks feel strangely heavy, and it can be hard to explain why certain moments hit so hard. Sometimes the hardest part is that other people think you should be past it by now.
- I feel fine one minute and undone the next.
- I keep expecting life to feel normal again.
- I do not know where to put all of this.
- I am tired of pretending I am okay.
Grief can be love, absence, and history all at once.
How we work with it
We make room for grief without rushing past it. Some sessions are about naming the shape of the loss, while others are about the ways it changes sleep, concentration, family contact, or the body’s sense of ease. Cognitive strategies can help when grief becomes tangled with guilt, self-blame, or harsh thoughts about what you should be feeling. Somatic tools can help you notice how grief settles in the body when words are hard to find. We stay attentive to whether you are grieving alone or carrying loss inside a larger family or cultural context.
- Cognitive Strategies
- We use this to notice the beliefs that can wrap around grief, like self-blame or pressure to be over it. That can make room for a clearer view of what is actually happening inside you.
- Somatic Tools
- We use this when grief shows up as heaviness, tightness, numbness, or a body that will not settle. The work helps you notice those signals without having to push them away.
What the first sessions look like
Our first conversations focus on what has been lost and what it has been like to carry that loss. You do not need to have the right words for it; we can sort through it together and pay attention to what deserves space.
We offer a free 15-minute consultation. We respond to inquiries as soon as we can, usually within 1-2 business days.
Questions people ask
Is grief therapy only for death?
No. Grief can also come from estrangement, changed relationships, lost hopes, or walking away from something important. We can work with the kind of loss that is affecting you.
What if I do not cry or feel much?
That happens for some people, especially when grief has been held in for a long time. We can work with numbness, disconnection, or whatever is showing up instead.
Do I need to talk about the person or situation in detail?
Only as much as feels useful. We can begin with what the loss has changed in your life now and move at a pace that feels manageable.
Can grief affect the way I function every day?
Yes, and people often notice it in concentration, energy, sleep, and patience. We can pay attention to those day-to-day effects alongside the feelings themselves.
